Our client, a leading UK law firm, is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Knowledge Director to join their growing team. This newly created, firmwide position offers the opportunity to shape and drive the knowledge management strategy across all business areas, working closely with senior leadership, IT, Risk, and specialist practice support lawyers (PSLs). This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and delivering knowledge solutions that support strategic goals. The position can be based from Bristol, with hybrid working and occasional travel to other UK offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the firm's knowledge management strategy, ensuring best-in-class systems, tools, and processes.
  • Managing key external relationships and contracts with major providers such as LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters.
  • Partnering with PSLs and business unit leaders to identify knowledge and process needs, aligning them with firmwide objectives in AI, technology, and innovation.
  • Overseeing the development and management of precedents, business processes, and knowledge resources.
  • Collaborating closely with Risk, IT, and Innovation teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency across the firm.
  • Championing continuous improvement in how the firm captures, shares, and uses knowledge.

About You:

  • Proven experience in knowledge management within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience managing relationships with external legal tech and knowledge providers.
  • Confident communicator who can influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ideally from a Commercial, Corporate, Litigation, or Data background, although all practice areas will be considered.
  • Ready to operate at (or step up to) Director level, with a strategic mindset and hands-on approach.
