A leading UK law firm with offices located throughout the country, are looking for a Housing Management/Property Litigation paralegal. The role is permanent, and is based in the Birmingham office. The role will involve providing advice and assistance to Registered Providers of Social Housing and private landlords in a broad range of matters, including possession proceedings based on rent arrears, breach of tenancy, anti-social behaviour and unauthorised occupiers, injunction proceedings, disrepair claims and claims against leaseholders including forfeiture.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- drafting and preparing claim forms
- preparing trial bundles
- liaising with Court prior to trial
- assisting with general paralegal and administrative tasks in an effective and timely manner
Candidates must possess excellent academics, including a good law degree (minimum 2:2) or GDL, successful or near completion of the LPC (preferred), and excellent IT and organisational skills. Knowledge of Document Management Systems is preferable. Our client has a preference for candidates to have prior experience as a paralegal within a similar role. Exposure to housing management and/or property litigation is highly advantageous, as is working with RPs/private landlords and the County Court.
This is a full-time hybrid position with around 3 days in the office a week, depending on business needs. However, it is essential that applicants currently reside in the Birmingham area, and can commute to the City with ease.
