We have been instructed on an exciting new opportunity with a leading global law firm seeking an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer to join its highly ranked team on a 12–14 month fixed-term contract. This role is available to start immediately (or at short notice) and offers hybrid working, with two days per week in the office. While the preference is for the successful candidate to be based in London, the firm will also consider candidates in Manchester or Bristol.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with a directory-ranked Partner and gain excellent exposure to a broad and high-quality caseload of non-contentious construction matters. The team advises a wide cross-section of the construction and engineering industry on the drafting and negotiation of complex construction contracts across both domestic and international projects. Their work spans major energy and transport infrastructure developments, frequently involving industry-standard forms including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, as well as bespoke contractual arrangements. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and well-regarded team on a high-profile platform, with meaningful responsibility from the outset.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales (or another Commonwealth jurisdiction such as Australia or New Zealand)
- 5+ years’ PQE advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters
- Experience gained within reputable UK City or regional firms
- Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail
- The ability and willingness to commit to a 12–14 month fixed-term contract
- Availability to commence a new role immediately or at short notice
