Emerging Companies and M&A, 3+ PQE, London
My international City firm client is looking for a talented Corporate Finance associate (3+ PQE) to join the leading UK Corporate Finance and Equity Capital Markets team.
Corporate Finance is one of the firm’s most strategically important practice areas and the team sits at the heart of many of the most dynamic deals in the market. The team supports listed companies, institutional investors, private entities and fast‑growing emerging businesses on complex, cross‑border corporate finance and ECM matters — including public and private M&A, strategic investments, equity issues and regulatory advisory work.
This is a standout opportunity for a driven, technically strong Corporate solicitor, who wants to lead on sophisticated transactions, work alongside market‑leading partners and develop within a team which prides itself on commercial excellence and genuine collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Act on a broad range of corporate finance matters, including private and public M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and reorganisations.
- Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documents, including SPAs, shareholder agreements and governance frameworks.
- Advise listed clients on equity issues, disclosure obligations and regulatory compliance under the UK Listing Rules, MAR and the Takeover Code.
- Lead deal workstreams, managing cross‑border project teams and collaborating closely with the international offices.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a cohesive, inclusive and knowledgeable team environment.
- Play an active role in business development initiatives and client pitches.
- Contribute to know‑how development, training sessions and sector‑focussed insights which shape firm‑wide best practice.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- E&W qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE in corporate transactional and advisory work.
- Significant experience advising on both listed company transactions and private M&A.
- Strong understanding of capital markets regulation, corporate governance and UK corporate finance frameworks.
- The ability to run matters with limited supervision.
- Proven experience acting as lead associate on transactions, with confidence managing competing deadlines.
