An exciting opportunity has arisen with a market leading international law firm, for an experienced Cyber Incident Response lawyer to join its highly regarded cyber practice on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, starting ASAP. The role sits within a specialist cyber team advising corporate clients, insurers and insureds on complex cyber incidents and data breaches.
Working closely with senior partners, you will take the lead on significant matters, managing live incidents and guiding clients through highly sensitive and time‑critical situations. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy, direct client contact, and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision‑making, while also supporting and mentoring junior members of the team within a collaborative, international practice.
You can expect to advise on a range of cyber and data‑related matters, including:
- Leading end‑to‑end cyber incident response across readiness, response and recovery
- Advising on regulatory obligations and engagement with UK and international regulators
- Coordinating multi‑jurisdictional responses with forensic experts, PR advisers and other stakeholders
- Handling cyber‑related litigation and disputes arising from incidents
Applications are sought from lawyers who can demonstrate:
- Qualification as a solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
- Ideally 8 years' PQE with strong experience in cyber incident response, data breaches, litigation or regulatory matters
- Experience gained within a recognised law firm or specialist disputes, regulatory or cyber practice
- Confidence operating autonomously in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments
- Availability to start immediately or at short notice
This role involves supporting live incidents, so flexibility around working hours is important. A hybrid working arrangement is in place, with scope to work from the firm's regional offices.
