We have an exciting opportunity with an international energy trading firm that are looking for someone to join their Global Corporate Compliance Team in London. Within this role, your responsibilities will include overseeing compliance with Internal Group policies and procedures and external regulations. You will report to the Senior Compliance Officer. This is a truly 'hands-on' position, working autonomously with the trading teams to facilitate tangible compliance improvements, while remaining in close coordination with the wider Compliance team. The role is mainly office-based but will provide great exposure and opportunity to grow as they operate in a dynamic environment within a very flat structure.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of corporate compliance framework
- Providing day to day support and advice to businesses on compliance issues
- Implementation of systems and controls in relation to regulatory, corporate and legal risks
- Conducting analysis of compliance risks for new projects (e.g. M&A transactions) and advising business teams on any remediation actions
- Assisting in sanctions and regulations monitoring and coordinating with the relevant internal teams (e.g. Legal / Finance) to properly manage transactions with sanctions exposure
- Developing and delivering compliance related training to the relevant regional teams and offices
- Contributing to refining existing or introducing new compliance initiatives (e.g. developing engaging content for the regional Compliance champions programme)
- Undertaking additional activities as directed by Compliance Management
- Providing guidance on anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, data privacy, and other key compliance areas
Required experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a compliance professional
- Experience in a commodities trading or an energy firm would be advantageous
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of sanctions and ABC laws on business operations
- A strong investigatory and analytical mindset/skills
- Flexible and adaptable
