Our US firm client's UK Employment team is at the forefront of advising clients on UK and European Employment law, with a particular expertise in helping US clients to navigate often unfamiliar processes. The group is now looking to add an England & Wales qualified Associate at the 4-7 PQE level.

The team works on the Employment aspects of complex M&A transactions and reorganisations, both within UK and cross-border, often coordinating and implementing international advice, as well as advising on senior executive hiring and firing; drafting contracts and employment policies; drafting and enforcing post-termination restrictions and all aspects of general employment advice for the diverse range of clients (from PE and their portfolio companies and start-ups, to multinational public and private enterprises). The group also represents employers in employment grievances and disputes from prevention and mitigation, through investigations, negotiations and dispute resolution.

The firm has a sophisticated training programme, which includes both in-house and external seminars and training sessions. Lawyers are provided with “on-the-job” training and constructive “real-time” Partner feedback. The formal training programme includes;

  • Regular team meetings.
  • Regular team know-how meetings.
  • Weekly and monthly training seminars and workshops for all levels, covering legal topics relevant to the firm's practice areas and skills. These are presented by Partners and Associates and external specialists, KC's and other professionals.
  • Live video-links to seminars presented across the network of offices.
  • Pro bono.

Pro bono is a core aspect of the culture, and the firm dedicates approximately 3-5% of its total billable hours to pro bono matters. Lawyers have an opportunity to get involved in a range of pro bono matters under the supervision of charities, on topics including family, welfare benefits, housing, and immigration, as well as corporate pro bono opportunities.
