Job Description
Our international City firm client is seeking a driven and experienced associate (2-5 years PQE) to join their market-leading Derivatives and Structured Finance practice. Lawyers advise a broad spectrum of clients, from global banks to investment funds and corporates across multiple sectors, on complex Derivatives and Structured Finance matters.
The practice spans a wide range of areas, including:
- OTC and exchange-traded derivatives
- Structured credit, securitisation and structured products
- Securities financing transactions, including repos and stock lending
- Strategic equity and margin loan structures
- Regulatory compliance including EMIR and SFTR
- Distressed investments and credit event advisory.
You will:
- Lead and negotiate high-value, complex transactions (with supervision)
- Draft bespoke legal advice for top-tier clients
- Take on a client-facing role, nurturing relationships and spotting opportunities to add value.
Qualities sought:
- 2-5PQE, either in private practice or in-house at a bank, hedge fund, or similar institution
- Strong experience in derivatives (OTC or structured)
- Exposure to securitisation, structured finance or energy/project finance is a plus
- Outstanding academics and a proactive, commercial mindset.
