An opportunity has arisen for an experienced contentious insolvency lawyer to join a well-established boutique law firm in London. The role offers sophisticated disputes work, a good level of responsibility and the chance to become an important part of a close-knit practice.

The successful lawyer will advise a varied client base on complex disputes arising in insolvency and distressed situations. The work will include challenges to antecedent transactions, misfeasance and breach of duty claims, asset recovery, fraud-related matters, directors' disqualification issues and disputes connected with administrations, liquidations and bankruptcies. There will also be exposure to urgent applications and broader commercial litigation where insolvency issues are central to the dispute.

At Senior Associate level, you will be expected to manage matters with an appropriate degree of independence while working closely with experienced colleagues on more complex cases. The role will involve regular client contact, responsibility for supervising junior lawyers where appropriate and the opportunity to contribute to business development and the wider growth of the practice.

The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor with around 5+ years' PQE and a strong grounding in contentious insolvency. Ideally, your practice will already have a substantial focus on insolvency disputes, although applications may also be considered from experienced commercial litigators who can demonstrate significant and sustained contentious insolvency experience.

This should suit a lawyer who enjoys technically demanding disputes but also values the greater visibility and responsibility that can come with working in a boutique environment. There is scope to develop client relationships, deepen your expertise and play a meaningful role in the continued development of the practice.

The position is permanent and full-time. Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience.

For a confidential discussion about the role and the firm, please get in touch with James Wheelhouse, Associate Director.

Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.

Our consultants will review your application and assess your suitability. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours; however, due to the volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually and would advise that if you do not hear from us you should assume you are not successful in your application.
