An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced private client Lawyer to lead the development of a new Tax and Estate Planning practice within a well-established regional firm. This role will be based primarily in Bournemouth, as part of the firm's new office launch in summer 2025.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for building the local presence of the team while maintaining strong links with the wider Private Client department. You will manage your own caseload of complex estate, trust, and tax planning matters, while providing guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues.
The role will include advising on the administration of estates and trusts, drafting wills and trust documentation, preparing and registering lasting powers of attorney, and advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and broader succession planning. You will also contribute to the department's development strategy and play an active role in business development.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years' experience across the full spectrum of private client and tax work, ideally gained within a well-regarded practice. STEP qualification is preferred, and a strong understanding of inheritance tax, trust law, and capital gains tax is essential. Excellent drafting skills, commercial awareness, and strong client care are key attributes.
