Our international City firm client is seeking a Restructuring & Insolvency Senior Associate with between 5-7 years’ PQE to join its London Finance practice. This role is suited to an experienced lawyer with expertise across both contentious and non-contentious Restructuring and Insolvency matters. You will advise lenders, debtors, insolvency practitioners, investors and corporates on complex UK and cross-border restructurings, insolvencies and distressed transactions.
The team advises across the full spectrum of distressed situations, including consensual and non-consensual restructurings, security enforcement, distressed M&A, administrations, restructuring plans, schemes of arrangement, liquidations, CVAs, and cross-border insolvencies, including U.S. Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings.
You will:
- Advise lenders, directors, insolvency practitioners, investors and corporates on restructuring and insolvency matters.
- Lead distressed M&A transactions and coordinate cross-border matters with international counsel.
- Advise boards on financial distress, directors’ duties and restructuring options.
- Draft and negotiate restructuring and insolvency documentation, including security reviews, enforcement strategies and court applications.
- Support business development, client relationships and thought leadership.
You will have:
- Experience across both contentious and non-contentious Insolvency matters.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK Restructuring and Insolvency law.
- Experience with financial documentation and security structures.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Commercial judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex matters effectively.
