Our client is a mid-market London firm that is looking to engage a Private Client Professional Support Lawyer on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The role is due to start ASAP; therefore, candidates should ideally be available immediately or at short notice. The firm operates a hybrid working pattern, with 2-3 days per week required in their London office.
The private client team provide expert advice for a high-quality client base on UK tax and estate planning, trusts and trust administration. The successful individual can expect to provide high-level support to Lawyers and clients - driving the department's knowledge management, innovation initiatives and legal updates.
Main duties will include:
- Developing, maintaining and updating internal legal resources, precedents and know-how materials
- Staying current on relevant legal developments and changes in tax and estate planning laws
- Providing technical legal support to fee-earners and research support on complex legal matters - likely to include inheritance tax, international wealth management and trust law
- Delivering training sessions and seminars on legal updates
- Developing and maintaining a bank of best practice documents, checklists and guides
- Collaborating with Partners on developing client facing content to include thought leadership articles, client briefings and newsletters
- Assisting in client-facing matters
- Ensuring that the team adheres to regulatory, compliance and risk management requirements relating to private client and private wealth matters
Ideal candidates are likely to be qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives with upwards of 4 years' PQE, and will have a strong background in private client law (specifically private wealth law), including tax, trusts, estates and succession planning. A passion for improving processes and knowledge sharing is highly desirable. Prior experience in working as a Professional Support Lawyer or Knowledge Development Lawyer in a Private Client/Private Wealth team would be extremely beneficial, however, the firm is open to considering Private Wealth Lawyers who are looking to move into a Professional Support Lawyer role for the first time.
