Our client, a leading international law firm with multiple international offices, is seeking a Senior Associate for its highly rated complex insurance disputes team. The market-leading team handles all areas of professional liability and handles claims of all sizes and complexity with clients including all major insurers in the professional indemnity market, professional services firms (both in England and overseas) and mutual insurers underwriting risk in specific market sectors.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on matters which are invariably complex. They often involve multiple parties and engage numerous stakeholders including the professional services firm itself, primary insurers and excess layers. Coverage is also a big part of the practice, and the firm is currently handling some of the most difficult coverage issues arising out of professional indemnity policies including aggregation, attachment and rights of repudiation and avoidance.
In order to be considered for this role, you will have:
- 5 or more years’ post-qualification experience at a City, international, or top regional firm;
- Familiarity with professional indemnity policies and coverage issues, or alternatively experience within Commercial Litigation;
- Previous client contact and attendance at business development events;
- Willingness to supervise and provide guidance to more junior lawyers within the team;
- The ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously, and experience of assisting on large cases in a team environment;
- Strong academics, as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills.
