Job Description
We are working closely with a market leading ALSP in their search for an experienced Commercial and Regulatory Lawyer with financial services sector experience, to join their asset management client on a three month assignment. Whilst the assignment is initially due to run for three months, there is potential for further extension. A hybrid working policy is in place, with the successful individual expected to spend two days a week in the London office.
The successful individual will work closely with the General Counsel and Legal Counsel but will be expected to take the lead on their workload autonomously, with the GC and Legal Counsel providing background support and guidance when required. The workload will include drafting, negotiating, and advising on legal documents such as terms of business, broker/dealer terms of business, research pricing agreements and IT and infrastructure agreements. Providing advice on financial services regulatory matters, particularly those relating to MIFID II projects and issues, will also be an expectation.
There will be a level of interfacing with internal stakeholders, so prior experience in collaborating with internal stakeholders would be beneficial.
Due to the nature of the role, it is imperative that the successful candidate possesses experience in handling commercial contracts and regulatory matters across the financial services sector.
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Upwards of 5 years' PQE.
- Upwards of 5 years' experience in working across a full range of commercial contracts and regulatory matters in the financial services sector.
- Experience in advising on financial services regulatory matters, particularly those relating to MIFID II projects and issues.
- The ability to work as part of a team, as well as autonomously.
- Capacity to start a new role immediately, or at short notice.
- The ability to spend two days a week in a London based office.
- A willingness to commit to an assignment that is for an initial duration of 3 months.
