About the Role
The Certification Controller at JFD ensures all work meets strict certification, regulatory, and documentation standards—aligned with internal processes, defence authorities, classification societies, and customer requirements. Working across Quality, Compliance, Manufacturing, and Supplier Management, this role is key to upholding JFD’s trusted reputation in submarine rescue, diving systems, and hyperbaric technology.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure complete, accurate, and traceable certification packs for each build or project.
- Manage and maintain all certification documentation (CoCs, material certificates, pressure test records, FAT/SAT documentation, IMCA‑related evidence).
- Oversee adherence to project‑specific Control Plans, aligned with JFD QA processes from design through to delivery.
- Collaborate with Document Controllers to ensure correct versioning, approval, and archiving of controlled documentation within PLM.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IMCA, DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s, defence regulations) and internal HSSEQ requirements.
- Prepare project‑specific certification dossiers for customer delivery and audit activities.
- Support internal teams in understanding certification requirements (e.g., weld procedures, material traceability, calibration).
- Monitor certification trends, identify defects, and drive preventive improvements.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in certification control, quality assurance, or document management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of traceability requirements, material certification, pressure systems, and QA standards.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., IMCA, DNV, ISO 9001, welding standards, manufacturing documentation).
- High level of attention to detail with a disciplined approach to document control and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, engineering, and operational teams.
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Acrobat for document editing and document management systems.
- Further education qualification (e.g., HNC or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
