We are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our friendly logistics team based in Heckmondwike. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation routes, managing supply chain operations, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong management, communication, and organisational skills to contribute to the efficiency of our logistics processes. The successful applicant will utilise their expertise in driving, logistics, and IT systems to support our company's operational goals. You will build strong relationships with both HGV drivers and customers.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday weekly rotational shifts 6am – 3pm / 10am – 7pm.
  • Plus 1 in 4 Saturday Mornings.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling tools.
  • Experience in Operations and Transportation Management.
  • Strong Communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in transportation operations.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills to optimise transportation operations.
  • Previous experience in the logistics or transportation industry in multidrop and general haulage planning.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Transport route planning is essential with a good understanding of the geography across the UK.
  • Experience preparing quotations and understanding costs involved in performing a contract.
  • Good knowledge of processes and procedures including fleet utilisation, fleet compliance and safety regulations.
  • Good knowledge of the working time directive and driver regulations.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Transport Management Systems such as Vigo, TachoMaster, FleetCheck, Matrix Telematics, PDA’s.
