Project Support Administrator / Purchasing Coordinator James Wellesley Joinery | Rainham Head Office
James Wellesley is a high-end joinery company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke interiors for London’s most luxurious residences.
From our Rainham head office and 20,000+ sq ft workshop, we deliver fully coordinated schemes including kitchens, dressing rooms, wardrobes, cinemas and specialist joinery for architects, interior designers, developers and private clients.
Combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced CNC technology, we work with exotic timbers, veneers, stone, metal, glass and more.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Purchasing & Estimating Support
- Manage purchasing of project materials, components, outsourced items and stock
- Obtain competitive quotations to support the estimating team
- Monitor programmes and approvals to ensure timely ordering
- Source materials that meet specification, quality and programme requirements
- Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms
- Build strong supplier relationships and identify alternatives
- Maintain an up-to-date material and supplier library
- Deliveries, Stock & Cost Control
- Coordinate deliveries and check materials for quantity, quality and condition
- Ensure accurate delivery documentation and cost allocation
- Monitor stock levels with department heads
- Support stocktakes, investigate discrepancies and prepare reports
- Report shortages, delays, damage or cost variations promptly
- Project & Administration Support
- Support Project Managers with project coordination and delivery
- Maintain purchasing trackers (orders, costs, lead times, deliveries)
- Source and coordinate project samples and finishes
- Maintain sample trackers and monitor approvals
- Communicate updates to Project Managers and department heads
- Maintain accurate purchasing, delivery, supplier and project records
- Support health & safety administration
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required
Requirements
- Purchasing or project administration experience, ideally within the joinery or construction industry
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and confident supplier negotiation
- Proficient in Excel, IT systems and digital production/purchasing software
