JWR is delighted to be working with a successful and expanding hospitality group to recruit an experienced Head of Sales. This is a newly created senior leadership position offering the opportunity to shape and drive the commercial strategy across a portfolio of high-performing hospitality businesses. Initially offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 18 months, there is strong potential for the role to become permanent.

We are seeking a commercially driven hospitality sales leader with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth, leading high-performing teams, and operating at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Salary from £52,000 DOE
  • Performance-related bonus

  • 40 hour week. Compressed hours option available (4-day working week) and Hybrid working available (1 day per week from home).

The Role

As Head of Sales, you will take responsibility for driving total revenue performance across a diverse hospitality portfolio, with a primary focus on rooms revenue while also maximising opportunities across meetings, events, spa and ancillary income streams. Working closely with senior leadership, marketing and operational teams, you will develop and execute commercial strategies that deliver sustained growth, increased market share and enhanced profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing portfolio-wide sales strategies
  • Driving room revenue and overall commercial performance
  • Identifying new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, group and events sectors
  • Leading sales planning in line with market trends and business objectives
  • Managing and developing sales, reservations and revenue management functions
  • Setting KPIs, objectives and accountability frameworks across teams
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and demand planning processes
  • Building and maintaining key corporate and agency relationships
  • Leading high-value negotiations and commercial partnerships
  • Working collaboratively with marketing teams to align campaigns and commercial objectives
  • Producing detailed commercial performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior leadership

Requirements

We are keen to speak with commercially astute hospitality professionals who possess:

  • Proven experience within a senior sales, commercial or revenue leadership role
  • Strong hospitality background, ideally within multi-property or group hotel operations
  • Demonstrable success in driving revenue growth and market share
  • Experience overseeing revenue management, group sales and reservations functions
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability
  • Excellent leadership and people development skills
  • Experience presenting performance data and strategic plans at board or director level
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with outstanding communication skills
