We are currently recruiting on behalf of our luxury hotel client based in the heart of Oxford. This award-winning property combines elegant accommodation with first-class facilities, including a high-end spa, fine dining restaurant, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.
The spa is a key part of the hotel's offering, attracting both residents and day guests seeking premium wellness treatments and tranquil relaxation. This is an exciting opportunity for a Spa Manager to take the lead in enhancing and expanding this already successful part of the business.
Job Purpose: To lead and manage the daily operations of the spa and wellness facilities within this luxury hotel, delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring operational efficiency, staff development, and financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the spa, treatment rooms, wellness areas, and leisure facilities.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of therapists, receptionists, and wellness staff to deliver five-star service.
- Drive revenue through effective marketing, promotions, upselling, and exceptional guest service.
- Ensure all treatments and therapies meet company standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, control costs, and manage spa budgets, payroll, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff.
- Develop and implement spa packages, seasonal offers, and wellness programs aligned with guest demand and hotel objectives.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to promote spa services and drive bookings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for VIP and regular spa guests, ensuring personalised service.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Spa Manager or Assistant Spa Manager or senior therapist in a luxury hotel, resort, or day spa.
- NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience in budgeting, stock control, and achieving revenue targets.
- Knowledge of health and safety compliance and spa operational procedures.
- Flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
Desirable:
- Experience with spa software systems (e.g., Premier, Zenoti, or Booker).
- Additional wellness qualifications (e.g., holistic therapies, yoga, fitness training).
- Knowledge of the local market and customer demographics in Sussex.
