ROLE: Health Club Manager - New Opening

LOCATION: Derby, East Midlands

SALARY: CIRCA 30,000 per year, negotiable for the right person

The Job:

Our client is a modern 4 star branded hotel and we need an experienced Assistant Leisure Club Manager or Health Club Manager, who is looking for a step up in their career and ready to take on the gradual reopening of the health club over the next 12 months.

As Health Club Manager, your objectives will be to:

  • Recruit and train your team including Leisure attendants, Therapists as well as a Membership Sales Executive.
  • Actively develop and grow leisure, membership, spa and treatment side of business.
  • To lead from the front with exceptional customer service ensuring the team do the same.
  • During the reopening, be actively involved in the hotel operations by being Duty Manager on shift & support your colleagues around the hotel.

The Essential Skills:

  • You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supervising and managing a team within a leisure club & Spa environment.
  • Must have experience of managing the sales & marketing aspect of leisure club operation.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of pool plant maintenance.
  • Must be highly customer focused with excellent communication skills both face to face, on the telephone & via email.
  • Must be commercially aware, understanding the importance of working within costs & departmental budgets.
  • Must be highly organised and well versed in completing paperwork.
  • Must be self-driven, willing to always be 'hands-on' and possess a passion for the leisure industry generally.
  • The role will be 5 days out of 7, including some weekend & evening work.
