With state-of-the-art skills in materials technology, particularly relating to elastomers, polymers, composites and engineering plastics plus extensive expertise in precision machining of exotic alloys for metallic seals, and tension control fasteners for bolted joints.
Your Role
The IT Team operates on multiple global locations, with a mix of Business, Solutions, Operations & Support skills. The IT Solutions Team provides business partnering and support for our applications, in particular ERP and related software.
As a Solutions Consultant you will be able to drive the effective use of IT solutions within James Walker and demonstrate business focussed skills in line with three key role requirements:
· Professional experience and qualifications in the relevant business domain, preferably within a multi-national discrete manufacturing and distribution business to business environment.
· A comprehensive understanding of project activities and lifecycles, methods, tools and approaches related to ERP systems; an ability to lead, influence and organise in order to deliver project activities in line with corporate objectives.
· Comprehensive hands on knowledge of the relevant software modules in order to be able to analyse and map business requirements into standard functionalities, configure prototypes and pilots, specify extensions for development, test and deliver solutions. Liaise effectively with supporting technical functions and third parties.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
· Build great relationships by working in partnership with colleagues across the business, becoming a \"trusted advisor\" by providing demonstrable and continuous value.
Management of Solutions Team Project Delivery
· Work with colleagues throughout the business to optimise the value realised through the use of ERP and other business systems.
· Ensure solution design matches business requirements, advocating the use of standard, consistent solutions across the business.
· Take a leading proactive role in analysing new requirements and continuous improvement opportunities, mapping those into solutions and supporting the delivery of system enhancements and modifications through the entire ADM / Project lifecycle.
· Transition project activity successfully to the support organisation.
· Manage scope, quality, configuration, data and effort.
· Report and respond to potential risks, issues and opportunities.
· Create functional specification documents for new software developments.
· Creation and progression of test script documents.
· Work with colleagues to plan and maintain milestones.
· Support the planning, management and presentation of business design pilots (Conference Room Pilots / Proof of Concept).
Support Leadership & Development for Core Business Applications
· Assist with the development of appropriate training materials for applications
· Transfer expertise through the business by training and appraising colleagues use of our business applications
· Provide a lead and mentoring to Associate Solutions Consultants, aiding their development and progression
About you
Essential Experience
· Project Management Tools, Practise and Application Development Methodologies
· Functional ERP experience covering the full implementation lifecycle. Ideally this would be with Infor\'s CloudSuite
· Minimum 3 years business partnering experience, in relation to delivery of business solution projects
Preferred Experience
· Industrial or SyteLine ERP product, but in depth experience of other leading ERP solutions would be acceptable.
· Worked on at least 3 ERP implementations in an Associate Solutions Consultant or similar role
· Experience of at least 4 of the following ERP modules/areas is mandatory:
o Inventory
o Manufacturing – Bills of Material, Engineering, Work in Process, Costing and Quality
o Purchasing
o Customer Order Management, Pricing & Shipping
o Planning
o Finance
· Career in a supply chain, manufacturing or business services organization, preferably operating in a multi-national business to business environment
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
· Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
· Project Management Foundation, APM or Prince 2 or equivalent
