James Walker Cockermouth are recruiting a Mechanical Craftsperson.
About James Walker
A privately owned global manufacturing organisation, supplying a vast range of high-performance fluid sealing products and associated knowledge-based services to virtually every industry sector. With state-of-the-art skills in materials technology, particularly relating to elastomers, polymers, composites and engineering plastics plus extensive expertise in precision machining of exotic alloys for metallic seals, and tension control fasteners for bolted joints.
Your Role
As a Mechanical Craftsperson you will carry out mechanical works across the James Walker Cockermouth manufacturing site. You will use your knowledge and experience to carry out multi-skilled maintenance, inspection and repair work to a range of manufacturing components and machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance and installation activities to James Walker standards
- Find faults and solutions across the range of James Walker equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance work on James Walker equipment
- Operate machining and welding equipment to a competent standard
- Identify and raise requisitions for spare parts and new equipment
- Contribute towards company and department success including the achievement of KPI’s
- Maximise department efficiency and output
- Have a willingness to embrace change and improvement
- Undertake any reasonable request from management
