JTE Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Compex Supervisor to support hazardous area electrical installation projects across the UK’s critical infrastructure sectors, including Oil & Gas, Tank Storage, Utilities, and Industrial Process environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise hazardous area electrical installation teams across industrial and COMAH sites
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems within ATEX environments
- Oversee installation of SWA cabling, cable tray, ladder rack, conduit systems, LV distribution equipment, and hazardous area equipment
- Gland and terminate motors, junction boxes, isolators, lighting, and field devices
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, cable schedules, P&IDs, and hazardous area drawings
- Carry out inspection, testing, and fault-finding activities
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and site activities to meet project programmes
- Conduct toolbox talks, RAMS briefings, and site safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with BS7671, ATEX requirements, and site safety procedures
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and safety on-site
- Act as the main site point of contact for electrical activities
Qualifications
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- COMPEX Ex01-04 certification
- C&G 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing
- ECS / JIB Gold Card
- CCSNG Safety Passport or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience supervising industrial electrical installation works within hazardous areas
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Experience working within Oil & Gas, Tank Storage, Petrochemical, Utilities, or Industrial Process sectors
- Strong understanding of industrial safe systems of work and permit-to-work systems
- Experience working on live operational COMAH sites
