We are recruiting for a Senior Associate for the Cyber, Data and Information Law department of a modern and forward thinking law firm.

You can be based in any office- Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham or Glasgow or they also offer fully remote working.

You will advise and support clients with all aspects of data protection law compliance as well as handling regulatory and litigious matters to a high standard.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Advising on UK General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation
  • Incident response including regulatory notification and communication and any resulting regulator investigation
  • Managing data subject access and Freedom of Information requests
  • Advising on and undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessments, privacy notices and other data-related documents and policies
  • Advising on and drafting data sharing agreements and data processor agreements
  • Data-flow mapping and developing Records of Processing Activities
  • Undertaking compliance reviews and audits
  • Working on litigated matters, to include advising and supporting litigation specialists regarding claims related to breaches of data laws
  • Providing external data protection training

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years PQE
  • Experience and knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR
  • Experience of handling client and stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of dealing with a varied case load
  • Experience of working in a busy reputable legal team
  • Knowledge and working use of case management systems
