James & Partners is working with a growing international wealth management group that is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Services Administrator to join its UK office in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with an established UK presence and a wider international footprint across multiple wealth management markets. The role will sit within the UK business, but the successful candidate will be joining a group that continues to build out its platform, adviser support function and operational capability across both the UK and overseas.
The position will suit someone who enjoys being close to the advisers, senior leadership and the client administration process, rather than sitting in a narrow, purely process driven role. The successful candidate will work closely with an existing administrator in the Guildford office and support the wider UK wealth management team across new business, client servicing, reviews, provider liaison and adviser support. This is not a full paraplanning role. However, the client would be particularly interested in someone who has some exposure to paraplanning, report preparation or technical financial planning support, and who understands what a good client file, review pack and advice process should look like.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting advisers with client administration, new business processing and ongoing servicing
- Preparing and maintaining client files, records and internal documentation
- Liaising with platforms, providers, advisers and clients
- Supporting annual reviews, valuations and policy information gathering
- Tracking outstanding cases and ensuring work progresses efficiently
- Assisting with client onboarding and documentation
- Helping maintain strong internal processes and compliance standards
- Providing wider operational support where required
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in financial services administration
- Experience within wealth management, financial planning or an IFA environment
- A good understanding of pensions, investments and general financial planning administration
- Experience dealing with platforms and providers
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Confident communication skills
- A practical, reliable and proactive approach
- Some exposure to paraplanning or report preparation would be beneficial, but is not essential.
The role is full time, Monday to Friday, and will initially be office based in Guildford four days per week. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced financial services administrator who wants to join a growing international wealth management group, support the continued development of its UK operation and play an important part in building out a high quality support function.
