We are looking for highly motivated newly qualified individuals to be part of the team in theatres at the James Paget University Hospital. This exciting opportunity will mean you are part of a theatre team that is currently in transformation with the addition of two new orthopaedic elective hub theatres in mid 2024 and the addition of robotic surgery within the same time frame. This role requires you to have adaptability and enthusiasm to learn and develop personally and along side the service.
The Department has 13 Theatres which provide services for General Surgery, Colorectal, Breast, Gynaecological, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, Trauma, Orthopaedics and Maternity alongside satelite anaesthesia opportunities.
You must be a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
You will be given the opportunity to progress your professional development both skills-based and educationally through our embedded band 5 development pathway, with the additional opportunity to develop skills in Surgical First Assist extended role once a preceptorship pathway has been successfully completed,
You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide care during the delivery of clinical services throughout the patients perioperative journey. The role requires an ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, within the appropriate legal requirements, acts, policies, procedures and guidelines. The successful applicants must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and be versatile to the department requirements. Acting as a role model and mentor for the students and visitors that access the department upholding the trusts values and behaviours.
