We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate band 6 Diabetes Support Nurse to join our dynamic team. The Diabetes Support Nurse will play a crucial role in providing specialised care to patients with diabetes, ensuring they receive high standards of treatment to effectively manage their condition.
Main duties of the job:
- To support the work of the Diabetes team to provide clinical support and expertise to Diabetic in-patients within the Trust and outpatient departments.
- To provide a high standard of nursing care and to develop existing specialist Diabetes knowledge and skills.
- To act as a Diabetes nursing resource giving advice and psychological support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
- To review nursing practice and support the implementation of appropriate changes based on research/best practice.
- To assist with the development and implementation of audit, quality and Risk Management initiatives.
- To contribute to the 7 day Diabetes Inpatient service.

Education and qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Qualification relating to Diabetes
Experience and knowledge:
- NHS experience in an acute setting

- Accurate document presentation and attention to detail
