James Mackle Ltd, based near Moy, Co. Tyrone, is a long-established fruit processing company supplying a varied customer base throughout the UK and Ireland, with a factory in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and fruit orchards in County Dublin. Due to the impending retirement of the current post-holder, an opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven Management Accountant. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role offering the right candidate the opportunity to make a real impact during a key transition period.
Job Purpose: Management and development of the accounts team, with overall responsibility for maintaining accurate accounting records for the preparation and reporting of the monthly accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and report to the Managing Director
- Manage and develop a small finance team
- Complete monthly HMRC returns, payments and reports
- Manage and process monthly salaries
- Complete year-end audit files and liaise with external auditors
- Manage cash flow
- Liaise with external stakeholders, as required
- Provide financial support to other departments, as required
- Carry out other appropriate tasks as determined by the Managing Director
The Person:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Strong working knowledge of management accounts
- Highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong IT and Excel skills
- At least 2 years experience in a commercially focused finance role
