Night Shift Site Manager – Mechanical, Electrical or Fabric (Occupied Commercial Building) Manchester | £450/day CIS | Freelance | 7:00pm – 3:00am | September 2024 – January 2025 A freelance opportunity is available for a night shift Site Manager (Mechanical, Electrical, or Fabric bias) to oversee a commercial refurbishment project within an occupied building in central Manchester. The role runs from September 2024 through to the end of January 2025 and is site-based Monday to Friday, working 7:00pm – 3:00am. The scope includes the installation of desks, reconfiguration of underfloor power and data, carpet replacements, and minor fabric upgrades. With only three contractors on site, this is a well-controlled and clearly scoped project requiring strong coordination and confident leadership during out-of-hours works. You will be responsible for managing all night shift activity—ensuring works are carried out safely, to programme, and to the required standard. This includes overseeing contractor performance, coordinating logistics and access, enforcing health and safety compliance, and maintaining accurate records for handover to the daytime management team. This role is ideal for a site manager with previous experience in occupied commercial environments such as CAT A/B office fit-outs or M&E refurbishment programmes. You must be confident in managing subcontractors in a live environment, particularly where noise control, cleanliness, and client sensitivity are critical. To be considered, you must hold valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black or equivalent), First Aid, and a full UK driving licence. Mechanical, electrical, or general fabric backgrounds will be considered equally, provided you have relevant site-based delivery experience.
