We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Engineering Manager. In this leadership role, you will oversee maintenance, and optimization of our bus fleet, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. You will lead a team of engineers, driving innovation, improving vehicle performance, and implementing best practices to enhance service quality. About the role: * Carrying out planned maintenance and in-depth safety checks to ensure vehicle compliance and performance * Responding to breakdowns and delivering technical support across various London depots * Diagnosing and resolving faults in engines, braking systems, hydraulics, fuel, and electrical systems using advanced diagnostic tools and software * Servicing and maintaining accessibility systems, including wheelchair lifts and ramps * Undertaking a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and bodywork repairs as needed * Verifying the quality and reliability of all completed repairs through rigorous testing * Providing mentorship to apprentices and fostering skill development within the team * Using operational data to identify trends and implement improvements in fleet reliability * Keeping abreast of advancements in vehicle technology, including EV platforms and mirrorless camera systems Salary: £27.06 per hour Shift: Sunday – Fri 22:00 – 06:00 Requirements: * Level 3 qualification in PSV or fleet Maintenance and repair procedures * A valid UK driving licence * Strong understanding of bus mechanical systems, electrical systems and advanced technologies. * Proficiency in managing vehicle diagnostics, repairs and modifications Benefits: * Permanent position * Free Bus travel for you and your spouse * Workplace Pension Plan About us: James Lewis is the market leader in supplying contract and permanent workforce solutions to the Automotive, Transport and Heavy Power industries, we provide both white and blue-collar personnel throughout the UK working with FTSE 100 companies and SME’s.
