Electrical Construction Manager Suffolk | New Build Prison | Permanent or Freelance We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join a major new-build prison project in Suffolk. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the delivery of the electrical works, overseeing the construction, coordination and delivery of the electrical installation from installation through to completion and handover. This is a major, complex project requiring an experienced Electrical Construction Manager who is comfortable managing large teams, electrical subcontractors and multiple workstreams within a demanding construction environment. What you'll be doing * Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day electrical construction delivery across the project. * Manage and coordinate electrical subcontractors, site teams and specialist contractors. * Ensure electrical works are delivered safely, to programme, specification and required quality standards. * Coordinate electrical works with the mechanical, architectural, structural and wider construction teams. * Review construction programmes and monitor progress against key project milestones. * Manage labour, materials, plant and resources to ensure efficient delivery. * Coordinate technical information, drawings, RFIs and design changes with the relevant teams. * Attend progress and coordination meetings with the client, main contractor, consultants and subcontractors. * Ensure RAMS, permits, inspections and site safety requirements are implemented and maintained. * Monitor installation quality and ensure works comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements. * Support procurement and coordination of electrical materials, equipment and specialist packages. * Identify and resolve construction issues, delays and technical interfaces. * Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover of the electrical installation. * Maintain accurate progress records and provide regular reporting to senior management. * Work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team regarding variations, programme impacts and project delivery. What you'll need We're looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager / Electrical Project Manager / Senior Electrical Site Manager / Electrical Contracts Manager with a strong background in major construction projects, including: * Significant experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects. * Experience managing electrical subcontractors and sizeable site teams. * Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations and building services. * Previous experience on new-build projects. * Strong programme, coordination and delivery experience. * Experience working alongside main contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. * Strong understanding of H&S, RAMS, quality and construction procedures. * Experience through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. * Desirable: experience within prisons/HMPPS, secure-sector, government/public-sector, defence/MOD, healthcare, data centres, major commercial or large-scale infrastructure projects. * SMSTS — essential. * CSCS / ECS — essential. * Electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND / Degree — advantageous. * 18th Edition — advantageous. * First Aid — advantageous.
