For over 20 years James Lewis Ltd has provided a wide variety of engineering services to the major Bus & Coach operators and manufacturers throughout the UK. We have varied projects with multiple clients throughout the UK and are looking for experienced & flexible engineers who are able to adapt to the diverse nature of our work. Job Types: Full-time Salary: £33.47 Shift: Monday-Friday Benefits: * Overtime Available * Pension plan * Free bus travel Duties to include: * Performing routine maintenance and conducting thorough safety inspections * Attending call-outs and providing support to multiple depots across London * Troubleshooting and repairing issues with engines, brakes, hydraulics, fuel systems, and electrical components using diagnostic laptops and testing equipment * Maintaining and servicing wheelchair ramps and other accessibility features * Handling mechanical, electrical, and bodywork repairs as required * Ensuring all repairs are completed correctly and thoroughly tested * Guiding and mentoring apprentices while sharing technical expertise * Enhancing fleet reliability by leveraging real-world performance data * Staying current with emerging vehicle technologies, including electric vehicles and mirrorless systems Candidates must have a recognised qualification in PCV or HGV Engineering and ideally have +3 years of post-apprenticeship experience. Your own set of tools is essential, as is a valid driving licence. A PCV driving licence would be ideal but not essential.
