With a strong pipeline of projects across the commercial, education, and healthcare sectors, the business delivers complex building services works ranging from £5m to £15m in both new build and refurbishment environments.

This role offers the opportunity to step into a senior leadership position at a key moment, with several major projects in early stages. You’ll have the chance to shape commercial strategy from the outset, working closely with project teams, the Commercial Director, and clients to ensure strong financial performance, risk management, and contractual compliance throughout each project’s lifecycle.

As Commercial Manager, you’ll lead the commercial function across multiple live projects. You’ll oversee procurement strategies, manage subcontractor packages, implement effective cost controls, and ensure accurate reporting through to final accounts. A key part of the role will be mentoring and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors, setting clear expectations while supporting their development.

You’ll be the point of contact for commercial discussions, both internally and externally, so strong communication and negotiation skills are essential. You should have a thorough understanding of M&E systems, extensive experience with JCT and NEC contracts, and the ability to balance commercial pressure with programme demands. Experience managing commercial functions on projects upwards of £10m is expected, alongside a track record of success leading teams and implementing commercial procedures that drive value.

In return, you’ll be joining a contractor with a reputation for professionalism and quality, where you’ll have the autonomy to make a real impact. The package includes a salary of up to £130,000 depending on experience, plus travel expenses, pension, healthcare, and a discretionary bonus. Long-term, the business offers a clear route for further progression within a stable, growing operation.
