If you are an Electrical Engineer who wants to move away from being purely reactive on site, this is the sort of project that gives you proper exposure. You will be working on a £35m Cat B fit‑out in Farringdon, supporting the electrical delivery team on a technically detailed commercial scheme with the pace, coordination and pressure that comes with a major Central London project.

This is not a role where you sit in the background waiting to be told what to chase. You will be involved in the detail: drawings, RFIs, technical submittals, procurement, quality, programme, coordination and making sure the installation team has what they need before problems hit site.

The business is a major M&E contractor delivering large-scale building services projects across London and the wider UK. They have the structure, project pipeline and technical support around them to help an ambitious Electrical Project Engineer keep developing towards Project Manager level.

You will be joining a project team that needs someone organised, technically switched on and comfortable working at pace. Someone who can take ownership of information flow, keep close to the site team, and make sure electrical packages are properly coordinated from design information through to installation and handover.

What you'll do

  • Support the Electrical Project Manager and wider project team across the electrical delivery of a major Cat B fit‑out.
  • Manage technical information across drawings, RFIs, technical submittals, design changes and approvals, making sure nothing sits still long enough to affect programme.
  • Work closely with supervisors, subcontractors and the site team to keep installation moving, resolve issues early and make sure the works are being delivered in line with specification, drawings and programme.
  • Assist with procurement schedules, material tracking and supplier coordination so labour, plant and materials are aligned with the needs of the project.
  • Keep a tight grip on quality documentation, progress reporting, snagging, commissioning support and handover information.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client‑side team, while learning how a major M&E project is commercially and operationally controlled.

What you'll need

  • You will already have experience as an Electrical Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Electrical Project Manager or similar within building services.
  • You will understand commercial fit‑out or major M&E project environments and be comfortable around containment, small power, lighting, life safety systems, distribution, commissioning and associated electrical packages.
  • You do not need to be the finished article, but you do need to be organised, proactive and confident enough to chase information, ask the right questions and keep pressure on the right areas.
  • A background with an M&E contractor would suit the role well, particularly if you have worked on fast‑moving commercial, office, fit‑out, refurbishment or mixed‑use schemes.
  • You will need to be site‑focused, technically sharp and able to work in Farringdon as part of the project team.

Why this role

This is a strong move for an Electrical Project Engineer who wants more responsibility, better project exposure and a clear route towards running packages and eventually stepping into Project Management. You will be working on a sizeable Central London scheme with a contractor that can offer proper support, a recognised name behind the work and the kind of project experience that genuinely strengthens your CV. If you want to be trusted with more than paperwork and want to build your career around major electrical delivery, this is a sensible next step.
