Health & Safety Advisor London & Southeast | Construction | Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00 Salary: £50000 We're recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team across projects in London and the Southeast, reporting to the Project Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. You'll work closely alongside the Project Health and Safety Manager, building trusted relationships on site and helping to shape a genuinely positive safety culture. This is a hands-on role covering everything from inductions and toolbox talks to audits, risk assessments and incident investigation — with real mentoring and development built in. What you'll be doing * Build strong rapport with teams on site and act as a trusted advisor, influencing positive safety culture. * Provide practical HSE support and advice across project activities. * Assist the Project Health and Safety Manager with the H&S induction for all employees and contractors on their first day. * Support and/or chair weekly Health and Safety meetings with the Project Health and Safety Manager. * Support the Project Health and Safety Manager with accident/incident investigation, evidence collation and record keeping. * Provide incentives and innovations to reduce Health and Safety risks. * Report any situations requiring immediate rectification or the stopping of an operation. * Assist in the development of risk assessments and safe working procedures. * Accompany the Health and Safety Manager on monthly H&S audits and third-party/external H&S visits. * Monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure they remain in-date and that trades are briefed accordingly. * Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. * Maintain accurate Health & Safety records and documentation. * Deliver and create toolbox talks on relevant Health and Safety topics. * Support the Project Health and Safety Manager with external audits by accreditation bodies or clients. * Assist with 3-monthly spill kit drills and 3-monthly fire drills. * Carry out PPE spot checks on site to ensure compliance across the site team. * Assist in the review of documentation such as the CPP, Site Fire Safety Plan and First Aid Risk Assessment. * Carry out regular reviews of the InnDex system to ensure compliance across contractors. * Deputise for the Project Health and Safety Manager during absence or leave, carrying out the duties outlined above. What you'll need * NEBOSH Diploma or NEBOSH General Certificate. * IOSH Managing Safely in Construction. * 3-Day First Aider. * Previous construction industry experience.
