Mechanical Site Manager – Data Centre (Freelance)\\nGloucester | £325–£350 per day CIS | 4-week contract | Start ASAP\\n\\nThe project\\n\\nYou’ll be joining a live data centre expansion in Gloucester – a restructure and extension of an existing data hall on a 52-week programme, with completion targeted for mid-Jan 2025. You’ll be on site full-time, working alongside project managers, other site managers and a QS to help drive the mechanical installation and commissioning over the final 4-week period.\\n\\nKey scope includes:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Creation of new white space and associated mechanical services\\n\\n * \\n\\n Integration of new generators and associated cooling/ventilation requirements\\n\\n * \\n\\n New LV/HV infrastructure interfaces with mechanical plant\\n\\n * \\n\\n New chillers and associated groundworks/bases for external plant\\n\\n * \\n\\n Internal steel frames and new rooms requiring mechanical services (ventilation, cooling, drainage)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Works around new and modified building openings (louvres, penetrations, firestopping)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Raised access floor and mezzanine areas requiring mechanical distribution and terminations\\n\\nM&E works on the project cover typical DC systems: mechanical cooling, AC, fire protection, BMS, containment, PDUs, cabling, comms, fire systems, etc. Your focus will be on the mechanical side, ensuring safe, compliant and coordinated delivery.\\n\\nWhat you’ll be doing (Mechanical SM remit)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Taking ownership of day-to-day mechanical delivery on site\\n\\n * \\n\\n Coordinating direct and sub-contract labour across pipework, ductwork and plant installation\\n\\n * \\n\\n Overseeing installation of chillers, pumps, valves, headers, pipework, ductwork, AHUs, FCUs/CRACs and associated supports\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ensuring works are sequenced, safe and aligned with programme and permit-to-work systems\\n\\n * \\n\\n Supporting pressure testing, flushing, commissioning and witnessing of mechanical systems\\n\\n * \\n\\n Maintaining accurate records, site diaries, ITPs and compliance with company procedures\\n\\n * \\n\\n Liaising with the wider project team (PMs, QS, electrical and civils leads) to keep mechanical works aligned with overall milestones\\n\\nWhat you’ll need\\n\\nYou don’t need previous data centre experience, but you must bring:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Critical infrastructure background – e.g.
pharma, hospitals, critical plant, high-spec industrial/commercial\\n\\n * \\n\\n HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services (or equivalent experience)\\n\\n * \\n\\n SMSTS (or SSSTS with strong supervisory track record)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Valid CSCS (supervisory/management level)\\n\\n * \\n\\n F-Gas or strong HVAC/plantroom experience (desirable)\\n\\n * \\n\\n First Aid\\n\\n * \\n\\n Full UK driving licence\\n\\nIf you’re an experienced Mechanical Site Manager looking for an immediate start, a strong day rate and a chance to add data centre experience to your CV, apply with your CV and availability
