Commercial Assistant – High-End Residential Projects Based in Whyteleafe, Surrey | £50,000 – £60,000 + Pension + 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays A specialist electrical contractor delivering high-end and heritage residential projects across London is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Commercial Assistant to join their team at their head office in Whyteleafe, Surrey. This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone with experience across buying, estimating, and quantity surveying who enjoys supporting a range of commercial and procurement tasks. You’ll work closely with project managers and directors to help ensure projects are financially well-managed and efficiently supplied. Projects typically range from £500k to £2m and involve detailed electrical packages on super-prime refurbishments and listed buildings throughout Central London. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and issue payment certificates for subcontractors * Assist in pricing variations and supporting change control documentation * Manage procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing * Help with estimating during tender and early-stage project involvement * Track costs and maintain commercial records for live jobs * Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers to support smooth commercial operations * Support monthly reporting, forecasting, and final account preparation What You’ll Need * Experience in a commercial role within electrical or construction contracting (M&E preferred) * Knowledge of subcontractor payments, procurement, and variation pricing * Proficient in Excel and familiar with project/job costing systems * Strong organisational skills with attention to detail * Good communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach What’s on Offer * £50,000 – £60,000 salary depending on experience * 26 days holiday plus bank holidays * Company pension * Office-based role in Whyteleafe, Surrey * Supportive team environment with long-term development opportunities If you\’re a commercially savvy individual looking for a varied role within a growing contractor delivering exceptional work on London’s most prestigious homes, we’d love to hear from you.
