The business has been operating for over 55 years, remains privately owned, and is recognised for its strong financial performance including £150m+ annual turnover and a consistently low-risk rating. They employ around 450-480 staff, run one of the UK’s most respected apprenticeship schemes, and maintain a hands-on, stable operational model led by second- and third-generation family members. Their work spans highways, earthworks, flood and coastal defence, renewable energy, quarrying, waste remediation, water infrastructure, slurry lagoons, soil stabilisation, and major enabling works. They are currently delivering multiple nationally significant projects, including reservoir and marine defence schemes. This is a contractor with genuine long-term stability, strong client relationships, and a culture built around practical delivery, internal development, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supporting compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001, and environmental licences, permits and consents.
  • Leading water pollution prevention measures, particularly silt management on construction sites.
  • Assisting sites with environmental documentation including CEMP, waste management plans, aspects/impacts registers and related controls.
  • Developing innovative solutions such as renewable energy systems for site compounds and cabins.
  • Liaising with environmental specialists, regulators, and client representatives.
  • Contributing to written bids for new contracts and industry awards.
  • Advising and assisting with audits and accreditations.

  • Effective communicator at all levels of the workforce.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Training and Development:

The company invests heavily in staff development, combining on-the-job experience with academic and professional qualifications. Their internal progression culture is one of the reasons they retain long-term employees and consistently promote from within.

Benefits:

  • Competitive starting salary
  • Company-contributing pension scheme (eligibility applies)
