Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate within the companys integrated management system, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a strong operational-commercial partnership to meet project needs.
- Monitor and manage financial risks and associated budgets.
- Oversee performance standards and quality control.
- Secure subcontractors at competitive rates, optimizing procurement efficiency.
- Build lasting relationships with clients and their representatives.
- Encourage cross-department collaboration through effective communication and adherence to company procedures.
- Develop a clear understanding of contracts and project scopes, ensuring alignment among project team members.
- Establish a strategic procurement approach in line with contract timelines, continuously monitoring and adjusting as needed.
- Prepare and submit timely applications for payments to support cash flow management.
- Ensure the recovery of retentions per contractual agreements.
- Identify opportunities for added value and submit timely pricing proposals to maximize returns.
- Conduct proactive cost and value reviews with site teams to maintain accurate forecasting.
- Provide guidance and development support to other project team members.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Contract awareness and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Experience:
- Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
- Experience with dispute resolution (desirable).
- Understanding of CVRs and financial reporting (desirable).
Technical Proficiency:
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Evision, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Collaborator).
- Ability to navigate company-specific cost management systems.
Training & Qualifications:
- Full driving licence.
- Comprehensive understanding of NEC3, NEC4, ECC, ICE, and JCT contracts.
- Preferably HNC or degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (desirable).
