We are recruiting a site-based Health & Safety Advisor to join a major UK civil engineering project in Hampshire. You will work alongside an experienced H&S Manager and wider site team, providing hands-on support, coaching, monitoring and guidance to ensure safe, compliant and efficient site operations.
This is a long-term opportunity offering progression, professional development and exposure to large-scale infrastructure works. You will report to the Project Contracts Director, Contracts Manager and Senior HSE Manager, becoming a key part of the project's HSE function.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day H&S support, coaching and mentoring to site teams
- Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks
- Support incident management, investigations and reporting
- Advise on RAMS, safe systems of work, risk assessments and contractor management
- Deliver briefings, toolbox talks and safety inductions
- Champion ISO 45001 compliance and continuous improvement
- Liaise with clients, regulators, H&S specialists and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to company-wide HSE initiatives and behavioural safety programmes
- Assist with documentation, reporting, bid support and accreditation processes
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma desirable)
- Tech IOSH / Cert IOSH (or working towards chartered status)
- Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor preferred
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
- Confident engaging with workforce, contractors, clients and regulators
- Self-motivated, organised, reliable and proactive
- Good IT literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required
