James Lambeth Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected, privately owned contractor based in Essex, renowned for its delivery across energy infrastructure, water utilities, and complex commercial builds. With a turnover exceeding £100M and a reputation for technical excellence and strategic growth, this business is seeking an experienced Estimator to strengthen its pre-construction capability.
About the Role
This is a key appointment within a high-performing pre-construction team, supporting tenders across a varied portfolio of infrastructure and civil engineering schemes. From civil works and energy sector builds to water treatment and commercial developments, your expertise will help shape winning bids and deliver confidence to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civils and infrastructure projects
Review tender documentation and identify commercial risks and opportunities
Liaise with supply chain partners and internal teams to develop accurate pricing models
Support bid submissions and contribute to client presentations
Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes and systems
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering, groundworks, or infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and tendering procedures
Commercially astute with the ability to assess risk and value
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
Proficient in estimating software and Excel
