James Lambeth Recruitment is working with a respected civil engineering and groundworks contractor in Kent as they look to appoint an experienced Works Manager to support delivery across multiple housing infrastructure and Section 278 schemes.

This role sits at the heart of day-to-day operations, ensuring sites run efficiently, safely, and in line with programme expectations. Its an excellent opportunity for someone with strong site-based civils experience who thrives on coordination, problem-solving, and keeping projects moving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing daily operations across housing infrastructure and S278 projects
  • Supporting the Project Manager with planning, sequencing, and resource allocation
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and plant
  • Monitoring progress, quality, and safety standards
  • Ensuring materials, permits, and documentation are in place
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and internal teams
  • Troubleshooting issues on site to maintain programme and productivity
What We're Looking For
  • Strong background in civils, groundworks, or infrastructure delivery
  • Experience working on housing infrastructure and/or S278 schemes
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and lead site teams
  • Proactive approach to safety, quality, and problem-solving
  • Full UK driving licence
