Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer
Our client, a precision engineering company based on the outskirts of Fareham, is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging, bespoke components across a range of high-spec industries. The successful candidate will have hands‑on experience programming CMM machines from scratch and will play a key role in maintaining the highest quality standards throughout the production process. The company operates in a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment, for the right person there will be future progression opportunities within the Quality department.
Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate CMM machines using Mitutoyo, MCOSMOS, or PC-DMIS software
- Perform first‑off, last‑off, and in‑process inspections
- Generate FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports)
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Support and maintain compliance with the company\’s Quality Management System
- Provide technical feedback to the production team and raise quality concerns proactively
- Analyse customer models and drawings to extract technical inspection data
- Create inspection reports and clearly communicate any issues to management
- Assist in maintaining document control and quality records for audit purposes
Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer Requirements
- Proven experience programming CMMs from scratch
- Strong working knowledge of CMM software: Mitutoyo, MCOSMOS, or PC-DMIS
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Confident communicator, able to work closely with production, management, and external stakeholders
Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer What\’s on Offer
- £40,000‑£48,000 per annum (DOE)
- Progression opportunities
- Regular overtime available, paid at 1.5×
- Days: Monday‑Friday, 07:30am‑4pm
