CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter / Operator Day Shift | Flexible Hours | Modern Machines | Large Subcontract Work
This role offers the opportunity to produce interesting varied components that support technically demanding industries including energy, aerospace, automation, scientific and renewable sectors. With continued investment in machinery and steady project flow, the business is looking to strengthen its turning department with an experienced CNC Turner capable of programming, setting and operating. This is a stable, long-term opportunity within a well-equipped and forward-thinking manufacturing environment.
Salary Working Hours
- Core hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
The Role
You will be programming, setting and operating CNC lathes producing large subcontract components across a range of materials. The workshop houses a variety of modern machines and control systems. Experience across different platforms is welcomed, and cross-training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming at the machine
- Full setup including tooling and offsets
- Producing precision large turned components
- Working from detailed engineering drawings
- Self-inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
- Safe handling of larger components (crane experience advantageous)
Machines & Controls
Experience with any of the following will be considered:
- Fanuc
- Mazak
- XYZ
- Proturn
- Manual turning machines
Training can be provided across different control systems for the right candidate.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner (programming, setting & operating)
- Experience with subcontract or varied work
- Comfortable machining larger components
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Crane experience advantageous but not essential
- Positive, team-focused attitude
