Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE + Overtime

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:00-16:00, Fri 7:00-13:00

We are looking to recruit a CNC Operator with experience in operating mills or lathes who is keen to develop into a setter/operator role with future potential to also be trained in programming. Operating from a modern, well-equipped facility, the team produces high-quality components for a range of demanding industries. This position offers a structured pathway into setting and programming, with further development into programming available over time.

The Role

  • Operate CNC milling machines or lathes producing precision components
  • Work from engineering drawings and job instructions
  • Carry out basic inspection using standard measuring equipment
  • Learn to set machines, adjust offsets, and select tooling
  • Support general machining activities across the shop floor
  • Maintain high standards of quality and housekeeping

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating CNC milling machines or lathes
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Keen interest in developing into a setter/operator role
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Reliable and positive attitude

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Any experience setting CNC machines
  • Exposure to Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar controls
  • Apprenticeship or engineering qualification
  • Any experience with CNC turning
