An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced engineer with a background in EDM, Wire EDM, spark erosion or wire erosion to join a well-established precision engineering business.
We are keen to speak with engineers who have gained hands-on EDM experience, whether this has been their main specialism or part of a broader machining, toolmaking or precision engineering role.
The Role
- Setting and operating EDM / Wire EDM machinery
- Working accurately from engineering drawings
- Setting and clocking components
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Using standard shop-floor measuring and inspection equipment
- Programming machinery depending on previous experience
- Working on a variety of components and engineering projects
About You
We would like to hear from candidates with practical experience in any form of EDM / electrical discharge machining, including:
- Wire EDM / wire erosion
- Spark erosion / spark EDM
- Sinker EDM
- Fast-hole EDM
You do not need experience on every machine, and candidates whose EDM experience forms part of a wider CNC, machining or toolmaking background are encouraged to apply. Programming and CAD experience would be advantageous but are not essential, and additional training can be provided.
Package
- Salary: £17.00-£18.50 per hour (DOE)
- Hours: Monday–Thursday 7am–4:00pm | Friday 7am–12pm
- Benefits: 34 days holiday + pension and overtime
- Company pension
- Overtime available at enhanced rates
