A fast-growing precision engineering company producing specialist components for a niche engineering sector. Operating out of a modern, state-of-the-art facility which is equipped with the latest CNC technology, enabling the creation of highly accurate, bespoke solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Operating CNC Sliding head machines
- Setting CNC Sliding head machines
- Load and refine existing programmes, adjusting offsets and tooling to maintain accuracy
- Complete initial setups and produce first-off samples to approved quality requirements
- Inspect components against engineering drawings, documenting results clearly
- Work efficiently to achieve planned production outputs and meet schedule commitments
- Conduct routine machine care and preventative maintenance checks
- Liaise with colleagues across the workshop to support smooth workflow
- Take on additional duties as needed, including occasional work in other production areas
Requirements:
- Skilled in CNC setting and operating, with the ability to inspect and verify parts accurately (Setting training can be given)
- Strong machining knowledge — particularly in turning processes
- Confident working with FANUC controls
- A proactive, adaptable and “can-do” attitude
- Clear communicator with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Competent in using a broad range of precision measuring instruments
- Able to interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot machining issues
Salary and Benefits:
- £35,000-£38,000 per annum
- Overtime paid @ x1.5
