CNC Programmers required for a long-established and highly respected precision engineering business known for delivering complex, high-value prototype and one-off components into the automotive, subcontract and Formula 1 supply chain. The ideal candidate will have experience programming, setting and operating 3/4/5 Axis Milling machines. Role Overview

You will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines, producing complex prototype and low-volume components to very tight tolerances in line with detailed engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program CNC milling machines using offline CAM software
  • Set and operate multi-axis CNC machining centres to produce precision one-off and prototype parts.
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical data.
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Carry out in-process inspection and ensure components meet strict quality standards.
  • Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement, and machining efficiency.
  • Support and mentor less experienced engineers within the team where required.
  • Maintain safe working practices and high housekeeping standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven background as a CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator.
  • Strong experience with 3-, 4- and ideally 5-axis machining.
  • Ability to programme using CAM software.
  • Experience producing prototype, low-volume precision components highly desirable.
  • Confident working to tight tolerances and high surface-finish requirements.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, materials, and machining techniques.
  • Positive team player with willingness to support and guide junior engineers.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Day shift: Monday to Friday
  • Regular overtime available paid at time and a half
  • £38,000-£44,000 DOE
