A well-established international specialty insurance organisation is expanding its finance systems capability following continued growth and investment in reporting, data and automation. As a consequence, they are looking to engage a consultant on an OUTSIDE-IR35 basis for an initial 6-month term. This creates an excellent opportunity to join a complex, data-led environment where finance technology is central to business planning, performance reporting and commercial decision-making. They are seeking a Financial Systems Analyst with advanced IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) expertise. You will combine hands-on TM1 development and support with process improvement, stakeholder engagement and the delivery of finance-systems change. This is not solely a business-as-usual support role: you will also lead defined projects and workstreams from initial requirements through implementation and user adoption. A key focus of the role will be supporting the integration of legacy TM1 & Planning Analytics finance systems, data, reporting, and processes into the target systems landscape. The role will work with stakeholders across the business to ensure reporting continuity, data integrity, and successful adoption of new processes and technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, develop, and enhance finance systems, reporting solutions, financial models, interfaces, integrations, and related business processes.
  • Work with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 and other finance technologies to support business planning, reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance, Underwriting, Technology, and business stakeholders to deliver system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Assist with financial data mapping, validation, reconciliation, migration, and reporting continuity as part of integration and transformation activity.
  • Develop and improve reports, models, interfaces, integrations, and finance system solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Carry out regular BAU finance systems activity, including model roll-forwards, data reconciliations, validation checks, snapshots, and periodic administration tasks.
  • Provide first and second-line support to finance systems users, investigating issues and ensuring they are resolved in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Deliver user guidance, training, and support to encourage effective and consistent use of finance systems across the business.
  • Support ongoing administration and continuous improvement across the wider finance systems environment, including planning, reporting, interfaces, integrations, and related applications.
  • Lead specific projects and workstreams, covering requirements gathering, solution design, testing, delivery, implementation, and user adoption.
  • Identify and deliver improvements across finance processes, reporting, automation, data quality, controls, system integrations, and user experience.
  • Act as a key point of contact for finance systems issues, ensuring incidents and requests are managed in line with agreed service expectations.
  • Help maintain strong financial controls, system governance, documentation, and data integrity in line with internal policy, audit, and data governance requirements.
  • Support wider business transformation and technology-led change programmes, representing the finance systems and reporting function where required.
  • Produce and maintain relevant system documentation, process notes, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support senior stakeholders with ad hoc analysis, reporting, system insight, and strategic finance systems initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience supporting, developing, and maintaining finance systems, reporting solutions, and associated business processes.
  • Experience working on finance systems implementations, integrations, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), including model maintenance, process development, administration, and user support.
  • Strong SQL skills, including querying, data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and financial and management accounting principles.
  • Experience working with data integrations, interfaces, and data validation processes.
