Based at our contemporary head office and distribution centre on the outskirts of Preston, James Hall & Co. Ltd. have been established for over 150 years proudly serving communities across the north of England as supplier and distributor to over 450 SPAR stores. Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of work: 38 hours per week (job & finish basis).

Location: Bowland View, Preston, PR2 5QT

Salary Range: £16.90 to £21.10 per hour (dependant on task).

About the Role

As a HGV Driver you will be required to deliver SPAR produce to both our own company owned stores as well as independent SPAR retailers across the North of England, including multi drop and multi temperature distribution. Each employee will have the opportunity to perform an efficiency scheme to maximise their earnings.

Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing

  • Operate HGV Class 1 and 2 vehicles in compliance with legislation
  • Load goods according to schedule
  • Ensure goods are delivered in good condition
  • Return goods and documentation after each journey
  • Maintain and update tachographs
  • Perform some manual handling as required

  • Full UK HGV license (license check required)
  • HGV driver CPC qualification is required.
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality
